It is funny. Practice what you preach. Preach what you practice. These phrases are so true.
Action and words create change. I have seen it with my own eyes.
I live by the 3 infamous Rs.
Reduce.
Reuse.
Recycle.
I use reusable shopping bags.
I always ask for a mug instead of paper when I order coffee.
I am a diehard Sigg Water Bottle carrier.
I use cloth napkins.
I recycle everything that can be recycled.
I compost.
I try to find a reuse for almost everything. Remember how crazy Grandma saved wrapping and tissue paper from gifts? Yes, I am guilty!
Some may think this is crazy and extreme. I just cannot do it another way. My conscious will not allow it.
The most extraordinary and wonderful thing has happened as a result of my crazy habits. My friends and family have adopted some of them! This is all I ever hope to do. I truly believe that every action makes an impact.
Changing old habits is difficult of course. It is too easy to just grab plastic and throw it away when you’re done. I think the country is on the right track though. DC, Hawaii and Maryland have all passed laws charging 5 cents for each plastic bag. States are leading by example and I know many will be following soon.

I’ve been wondering — is repurpose another form of “reuse”? that’s my new fave
Repurpose counts as reuse! And up-cycling, can’t forget that one!
